Sculpture Final Portfolio

My favorite material to work with is clay. I love the stage called leather hard when the clay is not very flimsy at all and it feels cool.  My unicorn that I made with clay was my favorite clay project to do. I like clay because it is squishy and really fun to use.  It reminds me of the days when I would play with play-dough.  There are a lot of things you can do with clay.  Just be sure you slip and score so the clay doesn't fall apart on you.  Another thing i really love about clay is the glaze.  Glazing clay is just as fun as making the piece of clay.  Clay is just a really fun thing to use overall.

I had some past experience doing art, especially with painting.  I used this experience of painting in my marble drop.  I had to paint part of the tree, snowman, and the ornament.  I had to use my skill of painting to do the small details and to help mix the colors for the main parts of the marble drop.  Also, I had to help tell what colors would work best for this project.  Since it was a team effort we had to work together, which I learned over the years especially because of my big family.  School also teaches you to work together because of team projects and things like games in gym.  Also I had to tweak it because the marble would not go into the present at the end at first.
The least favorite material I used was the Popsicle sticks. I think it was a bad decision to use a material that I had never used before.  I think i didn't like it as much because it took a while.  Also because it didn't turn out the best.  It was also pretty hard to paint.  The balloons didn't end up on the top either.  I had no real idea on how to get them there either.   Next time i would use cardboard or something easier to use and paint.
