For this project we had to look up our animal and a habitat for it (or a background).  Then we drew the animal and background in our journal. Then we picked out a rectangle as big as the piece of linoleum. After that, we had to put tracing paper on top of it.  We flipped it over and traced it again.  Then we had to take a piece of the linoleum and trace the design on there.  We had a few tools in which to carve out the linoleum so we could use it as our "stamp". There was a very large tool, a thin tool, and a V shaped tool just to name a few of them.  We had to be very careful because you cant put the linoleum back once you had carved it out. We took a bench hook and put a dime sized dollop of ink on it.  We spread it out and rolled it onto the stamper we had so carefully crafted.  We then positioned it above the center of the page where we had earlier put tick marks to make alignment easier.  we flipped it over and rubbed on it to push it down so the ink would go on the page.  I then pulled it off carefully and tada! All done :D Over all I think I did well on this project.  The background makes the Humming Bird and Butterfly stand out, and the colors were good.  I admit that I could have cleaned up my lines on the butterfly some though.
