My favorite project was the Stencil Photo. It was also very successful. I liked it so much because I got to use something I had never done or really ever thought about. It brought new things that art could offer. I also realized that you can create a picture with just three colors, and you can still make it out as a person, and maybe even know who it is. It was successful in showing that it was me, and I had little trouble creating it. It was an interesting project to do because I had never used spray paint before for any previous art assignments I have gotten. I really enjoyed it overall.
I learned and grew the most from my Landscape Painting. I was never fabulous at painting, so when this came around I had to really try to paint well. I learned that blending colors is harder than it looks. Trees and Bushes aren't very hard though. From this project I actually grew because I had to paint and I got a little better. Also, I never really had to do realistic things. I also never really used a picture to paint off of and have something to go by. It really pushed my limits of what I had previously had known.
I learned drawing in 8th grade Art class. This really helped me with my Cartoon Skeleton project. I learned about shading, which really helped. I used shading on the skull and the eyes. Learning is just one part of drawing. You also have to practice, and everyone has a different style of drawing or painting. When I first started drawing it was rough and really bad. But now I can draw cartoons and basically anything if I have an unlimited amount of time.
I think the least important thing we learned in this class was the Angry Pancakes. I feel like we didn't really need to learn this skill. It is not something that I will be using in my life. It is pretty cool though. The concept of using Photoshop is very helpful sometimes to make funny pictures. This, however, is used in really stupid ways too. People use Photoshop to trick people sometimes. That is not a good thing to be teaching people like the people who do such things.
The Clay Tile Project is the project that most reflects me as an artist. I have always been interested in pottery. I took two semesters of Pottery/Sculpting class in middle school. I liked it alot, and would have had it three times if it weren't for the fact that it's only taught for one semester each year. I love to work with pottery and making things in 3D. The game Minecraft lets you do just the thing. This project was new for me because I really had only made mugs before. I had to poke a hole in, and hollow out the Arctic Fox in this project. I also had paint in value.
